Naughty Nellie

The little door to the hen house that Nellie wiggled through

Greetings Fellow Maremmas. Last week our mummy and daddy were talking about those pesky chickens. My daddy was saying that he thought the number of eggs the chickens were laying was low even for this time of the year. He wondered if those pesky chickens were not lying their eggs somewhere else other than in their purpose built hen house. Well, he was out feeding the cows some grapefruit and as he walked past the hen house, what should he see poking out of the little door that the hens use to get in and out of the hen house. Yes, you guessed it – a white tail and didn’t belong to Me. Nellie was INSIDE the hen house eating an egg. Did she get told off. Even more than I got told off that time when daddy found me chewing on his slipper. Daddy said she was a naughty dog. How can that be? Nellie is a good dog, just like Me. I am sad that Nellie didn’t share any eggs with Me. Nellie promised that she wouldn’t go back into the hen house. Love Jasper and Nellie the two naughtiest maremmas from the sunny Mangamahu valley.
