Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremma. Well, yesterday was the day of the great Mangamahu giant pumpkin weigh-off. Mummy has been growing her giant pumpkins all summer. She says that the growing season has not been good and she did not think her pumpkins were going to win any prizes, but her and daddy thought it would be nice to meet some of our neighbours from further up the valley. So, they loaded up the pumpkins, tied Me and Nellie up and off they went. It was a magnificent Mangamahu day. You could see for miles and miles up the valley. You can read all about the judging and the winner in the following article:
While mummy and daddy were out socialising and eating barbecued paua fritters and smoked hapuku (groper) Me and Nellie were sitting at home gnawing on our lovely fresh bones. As you can see from the photos Nellie found a bone. She dug it up and was carrying it around, very proudly. Isn’t Nellie such a cleaver dog? Love Jasper and Nellie the two bestest dogs in the land.
