Moon-barking mareemas

Greeting loyal readers. It was a lovey sunny weekend and mummy has been as usual busy out in the garden. The mornings have been cold as the year moves into autumn but the days are lovely and sunny. As loyal readers will know Me and Nellie do not like the cold. We like to be inside, in front of the fire, being nice and toasty warm. Yesterday, mummy was out in the garden collecting some fresh grass for those stupid rabbits when she spied me chewing something, while sitting on the grass. She went over to have a better look and there was Me with a very much chewed wooden spoon. For some reason, she was not pleased with Me and said I was a bad dog. How can that be? Me and Nellie are such good maremmas. It was a full moon last night, so Me and Nellie indulged in a little moon-barking. It is such good fun to howl and woof at the moon. For some reason mummy and daddy are not so appreciative of our moon-barking efforts. Daddy came out in the middle of the night and told Me and Nellie to “shut-up” because We were keeping our family awake. Surely, they must understand our need to be woofy, dogs and partake in our desire to bark at the sky. Off Me and Nellie go. It is getting cold and We must take our rightful place in front of the fire. Love Jasper and Nellie the two bestest maremmas in the land.

Yum, yum. Who would think a wooden spoon would be so tasty.

That was my favourite wooden spoon! Jasper!!

  2. You don’t like the cold!? Aren’t Maremma supposed to be tough and brave all weather to stay with their flock and protect them??! 😉

If you don’t have a flock though we guess that’s fair enough 🙂

And you certainly look like you are enjoying that wooden spoon!!

    Lots of slobbers,
    Lexi and Jasper the Danes

Hi there. That is what mummy and daddy tell Me and Nellie that We should be tougher, but We do like the nice warm fire and even better a nice warm human bed. Mummy does not let Me on the beds. She says I leave muddy paw prints all over the bedding, but sometimes brother lets Me sneak onto his bed, if no one is around. Love Jasper and Nellie, the two bestest maremmas in the land.
