Ignored, annoyed maremmas

Greetings loyal readers and fellow maremmas.  Yesterday was a brilliant fine day in sunny Mangamahu.  Mummy is starting to prepare the house garden for bedding down for the winter. She is putting lots of compost down and is thinking of planting some lupin to put some nitrogen back into the soil.   She is, also preparing a bed for the planting of garlic.  Me and Nellie like to go into the house garden because We can go and visit Farmer Rae’s cows in the paddock behind our place.   We like to bark at the cows.  Mummy tells us off for being so silly.  It is not as if We have never seen a cow before.  Mummy says that there would be less barking if the four horses of the apocalypse turned up in Farmer Rae’s paddock, than there is when Me and Nellie see four cows.

Mummy’s co-workers from the museum came out to our place to have a work retreat and planning day.  They had a thoroughly good time, but Me and Nellie were not allowed to join them. Oh no, We were put in the tennis court and left there for the day.  That is not fair!! We were not with them to receive the love and attention that Me and Nellie so richly deserve.  We were abandoned.   Me and Nellie had to remind everyone that We were waiting there for their consideration.   We did it by barking, lots and lots of barking.  In the end daddy came out and told Us to keep quiet and stop being so noisy.

Off Me and Nellie go.  It is getting cold again and We have to position ourselves in a nice warm place in front of the fire.  No doubt there will be some comment made about the state of our muddy paws on the nice clean floor.  Love Jasper and Nellie the two bestest maremmas in all the land.  Soon Nellie has been with Us for a whole year.
