Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Mummy was telling daddy this morning that you should be very careful what you wish for. Why, just last week mummy was saying that she wished it would rain because house garden was looking very dry and some of her broccoli was looking very sad and guess what, it sure did rain over the last few days. The paddocks look like there are lots of little lakes in them. Mummy stopped off this morning and took some photos of the Whangaehu River. She said that she hadn’t seen it this high for ages. Me and Nellie are nice and dry sleeping on the deck. However, when mummy got home from work last night We were both tied up on the deck. Mummy was surprised to see us there, and asked daddy why We were tied up. He said that he wanted Us to dry off before coming inside. For some reason, Nellie had decided that it would be a good idea to stand in the middle of the lawn and get completely soaked. Daddy doesn’t seem to like to have damp maremmas in the house. He mutters something about muddy feet on the tiles and carpet, not to mention the smell of damp dog waftering through the house. Brother was very nice to Me because he let Me have a little snooze on his bed. I like nice soft beds to have a rest on, but for some reason mummy is not so keen on Me being found on a bed. Brother is still on holiday and while he is supposed to be studying for his exams, he seems to be spending a lot of time watching TV programmes on his lap-top. Off Me and Nellie go. Mummy said that there will some tradesmen coming to visit soon so Me and Nellie will have to go and position ourselves by the gate, so We are there to greet them with lots of woofing.
