Tasty treats.

Me looking most attentive at what daddy is doing.

Me looking most attentive at what daddy is doing.

Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas.   Now, as you all know Me and Nellie are rather fond of our food and are particularly fond of tasty treats.   Tasty treats have been off the menu, since Nellie went on her not to become a whale diet.

For those loyal readers who might have missed it, when Nellie when to the vet she weighed in at 38 kgs, which according to the vet on a scale of 1 to 9 –  one being starving, and 9 being a whale.  Nellie was at an 8, hence the anti whale diet.  Me on the other hand weighed in at svelte 43 kgs.  So imagine our surprise when daddy started feeding Me and Nellie tasty fresh meat last night.  Me and Nellie were very pleased, but a little suspicious.   Why was daddy doing this?   Me and Nellie had heard mummy and daddy talking about worm tablets.  What about worms?  Worms live in the worm farm by the rabbit hutch.  They do not live in tablets.  Most strange.  Anyway, who cares Me and Nellie got tasty treats and that is the most important thing.  Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in all the land.

Don’t look now but I think but….I’m pretty sure your daddy tricked you. But in the nicest possible way. hehe

  2. Dogs N Pawz says:

We don’t think Nellie looks like a whale! She looks perfect to us!

  3. Hello Nellie, you know, Rosamond and I weigh close to 40 kg each: Rosamond is 38 kg and I am 39.5 kg….

Now it is true that not all Maremmas are of the big, fabulous, grand variety, but you and Jasper look rather magnificent in all your photos. With all due respect to the vet in question, does he/ she realise that it is quite normal for a female Maremma to weigh up to 40kg, and the males up to 75kg?

Our vet says we are in perfect health and condition- no D I E T S around here!

Daddy is going fishing? That’s what the worms are for.

  6. Don’t look now but whee think they tricked you. It is hard to tune into the fiendish ways of hoomans but whee can see what has happened here! 🙂

    • Me and Nellie agree. Hoomnas can be very sneaky, why sometimes daddy pretends to throw tasty treats outside to tempt Me to go outside, but I am wise to the ways of daddies and do not fall for his tricks.

  7. Zena says:

Just don’t worry and eat the meat – that’s what Zac taught me 🙂

  8. Sharna. Sophie, Issy, Itai and the pups Solomon and Sasha says:

38kgs does not seem too much to us at Balagan kennels. We all love our food here and we are up in that weight range. Hope our M ummy does not put us on a whale diet.

  9. AWW I think Nellie looks just perfect… As for the worm tablets – yes, I have a sneaking suspicion my Mum hides mine in a chunk of meat, as well. But I am a good boy with a healthy appetite so I don’t really care!

    Big WOOFS from Solo 🙂

  10. You both look just perfect to me! I weigh 34kgs and I’ve started to get less treats and more carrots bol

  11. Katie says:
