Fluffy maremmas

Greeting loyal readers.  As you all know it is summer in New Zealand and that means moulting season.  Me and Nellie like to leave our snowy, white fur all  over the dark carpet.  We think it enhances the decor.  Family who have to vacuum it up seem to have a different point of view.

Another side effect of it being summer is daddy likes to watch this game on TV called cricket.  The legacy of having once being part of the British Empire is this love of a ball and bat game. Mummy says she has never been able to understand cricket and thinks it is a silly game but daddy seems to like it.  Me and Nellie don’t care either way.  One of the main problems with daddy watching cricket is that the New Zealand team is SO BAD and it makes daddy depressed.  At the start of every game he is so optimistic that the Black Caps will win and after every game he is so disappointed.  Here is a commentary about the state of the national summer game.

To cheer daddy up Me and Nellie like to play zoomies and doggy chase with daddy.  It seems to get his mind off the dismal state of play.  Love from two very tired maremmas.

We LOVE to Zooooooom in our backyard too! Our Mommy vacuums at least three times a day to keep up with our hair balls all over the floor! But Mommy does not mind cause she loves us!

You can follow baseball (as they do in Western Australia). No guarantees because our local team was mediocre-won as many games as they lost. I guess the only sure thing you can follow and always seems to win is “stupidity”-it’s all over the place.

Cricket is like American baseball isn’t it? Wow…you have even more fur than I do!

  4. Zoomies is so much fun. Waaaay better than cricket, I think. I ate a cricket once. It was delicious. Have a wonderful workout.

My sister Katie and I love zoomies too! It is even more fun when a humanoid joins in!

  6. Zoomies are great fun. I love to do mine in a figure-8 pattern.

  7. That molting stuff is so cool. You can make stuffies and wigs. Mom calls us all year round shedders

Lovely, fluffy, white hair around the place – what’s not to like? I think everything looks so much better with a frosting of white hair!

    • That is what Me and Nellie think but for some reason family don’t agree. Our fur even travels down to Wellington to daddy’s work and he has it there are a reminder of how wonderful Me and Nelie are.

  9. Whee also love zoomies! Not sure if you have heard but Mollie over here ( http://www.molliesdogtreats.co.uk/ ) is having a Valentines ball. Would Nellie do Nutty the honour of being his partner?!

Oh dear, losing all that hair might make you naked, LOL Loved the zoomies…it’s fun to watch daddies run to keep up 😉

I don’t suppose now would be a good time to tell your dad that your friends (that would be us) are South African *BOL* & support the Proteas.

We do not understand cricket either. Did you cheer up Dad and wear him out??

  13. I feel for you and the hair-loss, but at least its warm there. It’s now -6C here and I had to borrow mummy’s tshirt yesterday bol.
Look like you are doing some great zoomies there:-)

  14. love all that white fur, lol, Nellie is probably wondering “did that all come from me,,,hmmm. can I eat it?”

  15. Zena says:

Raffles would love all that space to run around in. We have a big garden, but nothing the size that you have.
Fortunately we are not a cricket family here. The Help often talks about the time that a famous cricketer was interested in buying their house in Wellington and the Real Estate Agent wanted them to reduce the price for him – just because he was a cricketer! Needless to say they didn’t. I wonder if they’d been huge cricket fans whether they would have?
Would your Dad sell his house for less money to Daniel Flynn for instance?

Nellie that is quite a fur ball. Looks like you two were having some great chasing and fun time with your dad. Hugs and nose kisses
