Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Well that time of the year has rolled around again and it is time for mummy to enter the great Mangamahu pumpkin growing competition, now in its 6th year. Yesterday she received the notice about the competition in the mail and she has ordered her seeds. All she has to do now is prepare the garden beds for giant pumpkins to be planted in.
For some reason Nellie has been yelled at by mummy a lot. She says Nellie has been naughty. Something about eating all the cat food. Me and Nellie, as you all know don’t take too much notice of Mummy’s yelling. It goes in one doggy ear and comes out the other.
There looks like there is another spring storm coming our way. Mummy and aunty were talking about it. More high winds and lots of rain. Thank goodness mummy has brought another big bag of dog biscuits, so Me and Nellie will be well taken care of if there is another flood. Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in all the land.

Mummies have great concern about what we eat. Cat food sounds delicious. It almost makes it worthwhile to have a cat… Almost. I hope your Mum grows lots of giant pumpkins. And that you and Nellie don’t accidentally dig them all up. I am afraid of pumpkins.

We hope your Mummy grows the biggest pumpkin ever! Good to know that you and Nellie have lots of bones in case you will need a stash.
