Gourds, Glorious Gourds

P1000547Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Now, you may be wondering what gourds have to do with Me and Nellie. Well, here is a connection even if it is somewhat dubious. As you all know mummy works at the Whanganui Regional Museum and this year staff in the museum are participating in a gourd growing project along with a number of Whanganui school children.   Mummy planted her seeds last week, which is a little late, but she has great hopes for them.  So, if you are interested in reading about the museum’s gourd growing project, please pop over to visit the blog: http://whanganuigourdproject.wordpress.com/

Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in the land.

I can’t wait to hear how they come out! We tried to grow pumpkins this year and we had horrible results. It was a bummer, because the year before we grew a 21 pound pumpkin! Not sure what happened this year, perhaps something with the soil I think. Good luck! 🙂
