Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Now as you all know Me and Nellie live on a small farm. Here in New Zealand they are called Life-Style blocks. When mummy and daddy first came to the sunny Mangamahu valley they planted some fruit trees to complement the existing fruit trees. In the corner of the
my play ground orchard was an old plum-tree which had blown down is a storm. According to the neighbour it had never borne any fruit, but with the arrival of a Billington plum tree, which can cross-pollinate with Black Doris there are now lots of plums on the old tree waiting to be picked. So, sister and mummy, with some help from Me and Nellie picked a box of plums this morning. Mummy says she will send a box of plums down to friends in Wellingon who likes to make jams.
Daddy is planning on making some plum sauce. He says it will make an excellent accompaniment for roast lamb. Speaking of roast lamb, there seems to be a few less sheep in the paddock. Me and Nellie are sure that there are a few missing. Maybe, they went on holiday to Farmer Rae’s orchard like Forest and Babba did.
Off Me and Nellie go. It is time brother was home from work and We must be there to greet him at the gate. Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in all the land.
