A sunny afternoon at Chez Jasper

Strawberry, the maine coon snoozing in the sunshine

Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Today was another lazy day at home. The boyfriend is over and brother’s friend (who happens to be a girl) is visiting. The boyfriend and brother decided to play games with Me and Nellie. Daddy decided to make some grapefruit marmalade.  However, sister had been doing some baking in anticipation of the boyfriend’s visit and there was very little sugar left.  Daddy only discovered this half-way through his marmalade making and was rather annoyed.  Mummy rung Neigbour Paul to see if he had any sugar to spare.  He was just back from a fishing trip and asked mummy if she wanted any crayfish and paua (abalone).  Yes, please says mummy, we will be right over.  So family and friends sat down to a delicious dinner of crayfish salad and paua fritters.  Did they share.  Not on your Nellie. Me and Nellie were sent outside.  So unfair.  Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in the land.

We had neighbors who sent their kids over to borrow stuff. One came over and wanted to borrow a cup of sugar. He wanted to borrow the cup also. Another kid came over during our Christmas dinner with company and wanted to borrow a corkscrew. “Do you want the corkscrew back?”. Excuuuuuse me. Maybe They should have sent me over with a note to “borrow” some money.

  4. Looks like a lovely day but being sent out and not sharing crayfish is a bummer. Love the look of the marmalade. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  5. I think you’d need thumbs to eat crayfish, anyway. Otherwise, wouldn’t it be like eating rocks?? I tried to eat a rock once. It didn’t go well.

    Love and licks,

  6. That’s really not fair. No crayfish and no Paua for the bestest maremmas of all the land… hope Strawberry got some fish?
