Monarch butterfly

P1030561Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Today, mummy was out in the garden picking some flowers, when she glanced down at her swam plant and there much to her surprise she saw some tiny caterpillars. When family first came to the Mangamahu valley four years ago she planted a number of swam plants in anticipation of attracting some monarch butterflies. Up to now nothing had happened.  Mummy is very happy.  She likes monarch butterflies and she likes to encourage insects, like bees in her garden.  Hopefully. soon there will be many monarch butterflies in the garden.

P1030562Me and Nellie have overheard mummy and daddy talking about “Lusi”.  Me and Nellie do not know of this “Lusi” but mummy says she is a tropical storm and going to bring lots of nasty weather to New Zealand.  Me and Nellie are not very worried about the thought of wet weather.  After all We will be nice and dry inside, taking our rightful place snoozing in front of the fire.  Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in all the land.

See Me and Nelli in the sunshine.

Hurray for the Monarch butterflies, they are very beautiful animals! Our mummy likes butterflies as well. In fact, she’s planning on putting some plants in the garden this year, just like your mummy did. That should attract both butterflies as well as bees too!
We do hope that Lusi stays away from your home, she does sound like a nasty storm! Keep safe and dry!!
