Another Big Dry coming?

P1030639Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas.  Now as you all know Me and Nellie live in the sunny Mangamahu Valley, in New Zealand.  For us living in the Southern Hemisphere. it is now the end of the first month of autumn.  However, you could be forgiven for thinking that it was still summer.  Unlike our friends in the Northern Hemisphere we have not had any snow water falling from the sky.  It has not rained here all month, so it has been getting very dry.  The grass in the paddocks  is getting very brown.  Mummy is on a get-fit-reigme  and went for a bike ride this morning.  Here are some photos she took.

P1030646P1030647P1030649As you can see everything looks brown and golden. Mummy says that there is no rain forecast until next week.  She is watering the garden but only in an attempt to keep her hydrangeas alive.  So cross your paws, out there in blog land and hope that it rains soon or else there will be talk of another drought like there was last year.

Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in the land.

You need to do a rain dance!

  3. That really does look golden. And DRY. What a bummer. We are hoping you get some rain, like we will get today. I might have to wear my raincoat. Maybe I will mail you a box of rain.

    Love and licks,

  4. This time last week our dams were the lowest they had ever been after an extremely hot and dry spring and summer. Today our dams are overflowing, creek flowing, tanks full and gardens well watered. It will happen. Hang in there. Joy and the goldens, Northern NSW

  5. We will send you some of ours, we have plenty to spare. Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

momwithoutpaws knows how this is she says we have been in a drought for 3 years . Our ponds have been down 3 ft. We had a lot of snow this year and she is hoping we are finally out of the draught.

  7. Kyla says:

We’re dry in Arizona also. We had a day of rain in February, however.

  10. We worry too. We have had a very dry winter and now we have had no March rain. Worry worry worry

  11. We hear you friends across the ditch – we are the same here – extremely dry summer and very little in March either. Still getting grass and bush fires it’s so dry. Over 30 degrees today and tomorrow and it’s April! It will come, hang in there. (Kylie in Melbourne,Victoria, Australia)

  12. Misaki says:

hope you get some rain soon!

  13. Even as my scribe writes this, we are preparing for the spring floods. A man is in our basement with a jackhammer making a terrible din. He’s making a drainage ditch ’cause water seeps into the basement when it gets really wet outside. Someone should have told him that Keewatin Rock is famous for its hardness… I have a headache. I’m going out into the meter deep snow to chase hungry Cawing Black Flappers [Crows]. Snow can stay. I like it! BOL
