Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Well, it is the time of the month to participate in Bacon and Fozzie‘s shopping around the world. Here in Aotearoa (Maori name for New Zealand, meaning Land of the long white cloud) we are the first country in the world to begin each new day. So, while it is Tuesday in the USA, it is Wednesday here in the sunny Mangamahu valley. So, off mummy went to the supermarket and came home with prices. As mummy and daddy are very
cheap economical people, they shop at the cut-price supermarket called Pak ‘n Save, even so mummy suspect that other people might find that our food prices expensive.
Toilet paper. A packet of 12 rolls costs NZ$3.98. (US$3.38)
A kilo (2.2 pounds) of beef mince, on special costs NZ$8.98 (US$7.64) Mummy and daddy don’t buy much meat since mummy has been on her anti-whale regime. Also, they have freezers full of “home kill”, whatever that means.
Mummy couldn’t find any hotdogs but she found some frankfurters, which she thinks are similar. A kilo of frankfurters costs NZ$9.98 (US$8.49)
Close your eyes and ears Bacon. 800g (1.7 pounds) of middle bacon costs NZ$8.40 (US$7.14)
Love from Jasper and Nellie, the two bestest maremmas in all the land.
