Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. This evening Me and Nellie were having our usual evening snooze in front of the fire and who should walk through the door, but brother. He is back from u-ni-ver-sity to work at Farmer Rae’s orchard, assisting in the clean up after the recent flooding. It is fitting and proper that he is back to give Me and Nellie the love and understanding that We so richly deserve.

Here are some photos taken of Farmer Rae’s kiwifruit orchard on Sunday morning. As you can see there is a lot of flooding and damage to the orchard.
Mummy says kiwifruit vines do not like to get their feet wet so it is very important that the land is drained as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the weather forecast is for more rain this weekend. Let’s hope the weather gods smile on the Mangamahu valley and there is not too much more precipitation in the next few days. Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in all the land.
I’m glad your brother is back and he will help to rescue the kiwifruits… it belongs to your wonderful country and I always think about you when my momma eats one :o)
Poor Farmer Rae! Those kiwi vines have wet feet and maybe even wet knees! Your brother has arrived just in time. Lucky Farmer Rae and lucky YOU! Have fun.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
That’s too much water even for my feet
Good luck to Farmer Rae and all the other farmers of beautiful Mangamahu valley. How are your sheep? Have you gotten your feeties wet taking care of them? Love from Jolie Amie & Her Peeps
Brother is cutting classes?
Maybe he can come over here for more hugs
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Does that mean the roads are passable again?

Some perspective on the flooding from our dog.
Oh, my. The rain has been sitting on you there, too. Last Saturday we were picking produce at a farm while 50 mlles away it was flooding. I hope Farmer Rae’s kiwi vines hang on.
Maremma love is a great reward for Brother coming to assist a neighbor.
Love the pics of you and your bro xx
Thanks for stopping by our blog the other day – it’s nice to make new friends!
My goodness, you’ve had a TON of rain! We had big flooding here last month, but are dry again. We hope everything works out OK for all the peeps and animals in your area!
We love the pix of you welcoming your brother home!!!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
What a wonderful reunion! How awful about the kiwilands, though. I hope you don’t get too much more rain.
