Now as loyal readers know Me and Nellie are the bestest behaved maremmas in all the land. We can do no wrong, so imagine mummy’s surprise when she saw Me and Nellie tearing across the paddock chasing a bunny rabbit. Needless to say, mummy was not pleased with Us, especially has she then spent the next two hours getting Us home. You see We went running fur miles and miles and miles before We thought it might be a good idea to return home. Mummy had to go trekking through mud and silt down at the river bank before she found Us. For long complicated reasons she didn’t want to take Me and Nellie on our leads back through the mud and silt, so she thought she’d take Us home through the neighbour’s paddocks. What she didn’t realise was that she couldn’t open some of the gates. When confronted with an un-openable gate she decided to
abandon leave Me tied to a fence post and take Nellie, who is smaller and able to wiggle through the gap in a gates and go home. She took Nellie home and collected the cake she had made for brother’s and his work-mates afternoon tea.
Once at the orchard, she found brother to come and try to open the gate to take Me home.
Brother couldn’t get the gate open either, but he was able in get Me to wiggle under the troublesome gate. Mummy took Me home. For some reason, mummy was not very pleased with Me and Nellie. She said she had better things to do with her time than spend it going around the countryside looking for Me and Nellie. So Me and Nellie had better be good maremmas for a few days and maybe mummy will forgive Us for our little jaunt into the countryside. Love Nellie and Jasper, not the best maremmas in all the land.
