Spring Garden

Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas.   You might have noticed that Me and Nellie have been absent from Blogland over the last few weeks,  It is not because We have disappeared off the face of the earth, rather mummy has been lazy busy in her garden.  She has  been taking advantage of the nice, sunny Mangamahu weather and has been out in her vegetable garden as you can  see from these photos:

Board beans, silver beet, kale, beetroot and leeks.

From the photos you can see lots of chicken wire and netting.  This is to keep those pesky chickens from helping themselves to the produce in the garden.  They staged a break-in last month and subsequently  mummy nearly lost her kale, silverbeet and boy choy.  Thankfully, all the plants have recovered, but mummy is determined to keep those chickens out of the vegetable garden.  She says they cause almost as much destruction as two maremmas can.

Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest, and most world famous maremmas.  Well, at least in New Zealand.

Good to see you again! Your gardens look fantastic – lots of yummy things coming in. And the two bestest meremmas look like they’re having a great time lounging about. 🙂

Our dogs love kale and it’s really good for them.

  4. Gah! You ARE world famous in New Zealand! How exciting to be a featured pet in the news! Your garden looks amazing. Chicken wire is a good idea. Chickens. Ugh.

    Love and licks,
