Tomato Time

IMG_4014Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas.  In New Zealand it is Labour Weekend, a time tomato plants are traditionally planted. For the last week it has been windy and raining, but today if finally dawned clear, still and sunny.  Mummy decided it was time to bite the bullet and  get her tomato plants into the garden.  As you can see from the photo the plants are safely in the ground and covered with bird netting to keep those pesky chickens out.  While, mummy was doing this, what where those pesky chickens doing?  Well, as you can see they had breached the defences and were in one of the garden beds, feasting on kale and silverbeet.  Needless to say mummy was not happy.  She says it is back to square-one and she will have to rethink her chicken proofing of the garden.
