Greeting loyal readers and fellow maremmas. Now as you all know it is summer time here in the sunny Mangamahu Valley. Even so, mummy and daddy’s thoughts are already turning to the eventual arrival of winter. Out in the front paddock were three dead silver birch trees. Ideal for firewood, however, they needed to come down and be cut up for firewood.
Enter Daddy with his chain-saw.
With a lot of cursing and muttering discussion, daddy formulated his plan to cut the trees down. Mummy says it sounded very complicated, but the end result was three trees down, all going the right way. If, they had fallen the other way, the result would have been the loss of power to parts of the valley and a claim on their public liability insurance.
Would you like to see some photos of daddy’s battle with the trees? Of course, you do.
As you can see, daddy was very busy with his tree battles. And what were Me and Nellie doing all this time? Why, We were having a snooze under a shady cool tree.
can you please send your daddy to me too? we need a hero who can help us with a tree… and two bestest maremmas who can snoopervise that work :o)
Great shots, J. I’m sure your daddy appreciated your support while he was beating those trees into submission. It will make snoozing in front of the fire all the more cozy this winter.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
we have winter now, Dadwithoutpaws in the summer has to clean out trees to keep the rest healthy. Lots of work But it is great firewood to keep you warm in the winter
Oh my – that does look dangerous my friends. I think you had the right point of view for all of this – nap and supervision. Snorts and oinks. XOXO – Bacon
Attacking poor defenseless trees? Now where are the birds going to perch????
You Dad works very hard. Mine sits in front of a computer, mostly. That’s why I make him get up a lot when I am home with him – giving him some exercise, BOL!

Congrats to your Dad! He’s awesome.
Plenty of wood to keep everyone warm in the winter. I’m sure you two weren’t sleeping under the shady tree, you were “supervising” under the shady tree! 😉
