Snow is Coming

Itai in the sunshine. See no Snow!!

Hello world.  It’s me – Nellie.  Me and Itai are somewhat perplexed.  For a week now, we have been hearing talk of Snow coming.  Now as you all know We live in the sunny Mangamahu valley and it has only snowed here once in many year and that was back in 2011.

So, we do not understand this talk of Snow.  What can it mean?  Mummy says that our lives will never be the same when this Snow arrives on Saturday.  She says We have to be good dogs and be nice to this Snow.  She has even been doing some tidying up by removing all the assorted shoes and gumboots off from the deck, where they have been abandoned, neatly left.  She says Snow will chew anything and everything in its path. How can this be?  Can you see why we are confused.

Me and Itai getting some love and attention from daddy.

Oh well, no doubt all will be revealed soon.  Meanwhile, it is time for our mid-afternoon snooze, to be followed by our pre-dinner nap.

Love Nellie and Itai.

A magpie, mummy saw this afternoon collecting maremma fur for its nest.

Hey Nellie and Itai, it is nice to hear from you. Lovely photo of The Handsome Dog in the snow way back in 2011. Very cold here in the Queen’s Land too, but we have never seen snow where we are. I think it would be exciting to play in snow. My scribe says he thinks it would make me go silly, runninig around in circles chasing my own tail or with my nose to the ground trying to scoop up the snow like I do with water and of course woofing like crazy at nothing in particular. I think he is probably right. Keep warm in front of the fire you two, love from Ninnie.

  2. hahaha furst I was a little confused, to talk about snow would be more our part, while we will have winter soon… But your mama is right, that is the snow what will not melt away, it stays with you and it brings tons of fun I bet ;O)

    • Yes, you are right. This Snow is 8 weeks old and is coming to stay with us for a very long time. BTW his brother might be named Ice. Ice is going to another owner but his daddy is kindly bringing Snow to us as their breeder lives six hours away.

  3. Don’t be afraid, snow is cold, but you have thick fur, so it will be fun to keep your nose under snow while running around. Oh, and rolling around tummies up, so cool!

  4. Are you sure it isn’t Jon Snow from Game of Thrones? Maybe winter really is coming. We hope you have fun with whatever snow comes your way.

Do I have to fly all the way there and train that bird? You are supposed to feather a nest. You are not supposed to build it using fur.

We usually get tons of snow here in Western NY. But not in August! Maybe you’ll find out that you like the snow. It’s a lot of fun to run around in.

  7. Well done, N. That is one smart magpie! Now she has the softest furs imaginable for her nest. I’m very curious about Snow. Be sure to post some pictures when this mysterious curiosity arrives. (Soon, I hope.) I believe Snow is a gift sent from Jasper. So exciting!

    Love and licks,

The Scotties have never seen snow. I have and it is overrated. If I never see it again, I wouldn’t be sad/

  9. We LOVE the kind of “snow” you’ll be getting.
